WOW!! And what a precious picture! My twins will be 1 on the 29th, and they were also born early (6 weeks). It seems like just yesterday they were that small, and now they are big and fat and walking/crawling around! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/luxlove.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="throb"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love">

That is so cool! Now all we need is someone to sit in the hospitals all day and google for the patients to defend themselves against the ignorance of the Whitecoats. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

God, it's stunning that that would even need to happen.<br><br>
But still, how cool that the parents had the presence of mind-- and the technology-- to do that... I think I would have panicked and let the docs "know best." Bleh.

I love that the parents questioned the doctors <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"> and thank goodness the little ones were ok, WITHOUT medical intervention.<br><br>
That picture made my night <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

I'm surprised at the doctor. Most doctors I know would have arrogantly dismissed the parents and went on to warn them about how terrible this could be and how their baby could suffer life long brain damage and DIE DIE DIE. Which seems to be their favorite word when they can't convince you to do pay for some needless thing or other.

I was actually thinking this too. Most doctors I've dealt with seem to see parents as inconveinces to be dealt with, not anyone to be listened to about the welfare of thier child. And how many times have I heard a doctor say "Where di you read that? The (done of disguist) <i>internet</i>? It's so full of misinformation." Thank goodness this doc had the good sense to take them seriously.

That's so cool. When I was pregnant with the twins I downloaded some stuff to a laptop and took it into show my doctor. It was a new test to check for pre-term labor. Well, he was awesome and looked into the test, he hadn't yet heard of it. And he had tons of respect for me after that too!

What i'm thinking is How something as important as hemoglobin levels and their 'unusual' fluctuation is something dr.s arent very aware of- especially with so many preemies being born these days and this alarming readiness to do a transfusion.<br>
Ugghhh dr.s <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/shake.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="shake"><br>
