This isn't for a check up, but just a regular visit.

How long will you wait until you guys, grandparents, or whomever is going with the mom to visit the NICU that your baby/ies were in or don't go until the reunion with all the years babies that your baby/ies was a part of or would never go or don't know?

I wouldn't go back to the NICU- too many bad memories. I get sick being in the same hospital as the NICU...
I would probably go to the first reunion that was held since my ds's release, but I don't know that our NICU does reunions. He's been out since July and I haven't recieved an invite yet.

fancyd,

2nd that well expect the reunion part of it.

Thank you.
I have gone back to the NICU and to the reunion. I found the reunion to be disappointing, since I didn't really recognize any of the doctors or nurses there (just one) and only a couple of other parents. So we pretty much just stayed in a family group. I will probably not go next year. I went back to the NICU a year after she was released (couldn't go on her birthday because I was sick) and it was not as bad as I thought. I needed to do it, for closure, I think. They took a picture of us and we gave them some candy and we talked to one of the nurses that took the most care of her. It was nice to see her.
No reunion offered, but we did take DD back to visit when she was a year old.

In general, ours had been a good experience though - we were happy to see the staff, and vice versa.
I don't know if ours do reuinions. If they did, i wouldn't go. I really don't want to go back and i had too many issues with most of the staff anyways.
