I'm thinking about taking the Montessori Assistant training. I have two children attending a M school now and a third starting in the new year. Have any other parents done the program just out of interest? Did you find it valuable to you? Are there others thinking about it?

I don't know much about the Montessori assistant training. I guess my first question would by why you want to take it. If it's to learn more about Montessori so you can enjoy it more, I would say go for it. If it's to try to get a job, I would look into whether it's more beneficial to get fully certified.

There are some online Montessori courses through the Montessori Foundation ( www.montessori.org ) If you're not thinking of doing the job route, these courses may be beneficial.

I think the Assistant training is a wonderful thing to do as a parent.
Also, there is a new component just for parents at this year's AMI refresher course in Houston. You can get info through the AMI-USA website.
Good luck!
