This lady drove down from her farm in Walnutport to our farmers market in Phoenixville. She raises chickens and turkeys and sells tons of poultry products at very good prices. She said you can go straight to the farm for it, but her card doesn't have an exact address. But, if you call, you can get the info. Her name is Barb Shelly, and her phone number is 610-767-2350. The farm's name is Mountain View Poultry Farm. She said they're primarily pastured and supplemented with organic grain. (Several farmers have told me that chickens don't do exclusive pasturing, enough that I believe it...) I forgot to ask if the grain is all true grain or if there is any soy in it...
Walnutport is about 15 or 20 minutes north of Lehigh Valley Mall.
Sorry for the typo - I meant the farm store is on Route 145. I drove by there this morning - she is located directly on Route 145 in Walnutport. Traveling north from Allentown, the store is on the left side. The McD's is on the left, then about 5 houses, and then the store with a red awning. It wasn't open when I went by, but I plan on stopping back soon.
hi all - i just found another resource this evening, and thought i would pass it on. we're going to check it out this week i think. http://www.kleinfarms.com/ in forks township.
Kate, I just saw their magnetic sign on the side of bronze/brown Grand Cherokee when I was up in Nazareth. I am going to head up there as soon as I need to do some shopping.
