I'm looking for a good crunchy ped in my area. I live in Carol Stream. I had been going to a ped, but I won't bore you with all the details, we haven't been back since my dd was 4 mths old. Now that she is going to be two I'm going to start selectively vaxing, so I could use some recommendations. Hopefully someone who isn't going to give me hard time about my vax choices and who will support her still nursing. Thank you<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I have a ped that I like in Aurora. He's been cool about the fact we're not vaxing and was supportive of me still nursing our 15 months old and has not had a problem with our own "well-child visit" schedule. PM me if you are interested. He's out near Fox Valley Mall.

LaGrange is a hike for you, but I loved my old ped. Dr. Lindsay Maitland, she has an office right across the street from LaGrange Memorial Hospital. She was great.

I second Homefirst. They're extremely supportive of EBF and selective/no vaxing. I think they've opened an office in Roselle which would be closer than Naperville.

Ooooops! Sorry, didn't see the part about the vaccines. We do all vaccines so it's never been an issue for us. I don't know where Wheaton Peds stands on this and how strongly they feel about it. There are several doctors there. One looks at me like I'm nuts for homeschooling and has the usual "socialization" questions and another doctor says "That's GREAT!! Homeschooling!" All the docs are a bit different.
