I am looking for a pediatric dentist in Oregon for my 4 year old. I live in Hillsboro and am willing to travel around the Portland area. She prefers a woman and is scared to death to go, that is why I thought a specialist with children would be best. If there is a female dentist out there willing to take on a very shy and scared little girl, I am all for it. Any suggestions??

I asked around at playgroup this morning and Dr Engles, here in Oregon City got very enthusiastic reviews. A 4 year old girl that was freaked out by dentsts had to have a tooth pulled after falling on the sidewalk and breaking it. The mom said Dr. Engles made funny faces, talked like Donald Duck and kept her attention the whole time, keeping her happy. "Acted stupid on a kids level" is what the mom actually said. It would be quite a trip from Hillsboro, and he's a pediatric specialist so I'm sure he charges more than your average dentist, but you could call and ask. Good luck.
