My baby is due in about 6 weeks and I need to find a pediatrician to see the baby the day after the birth (delivering at special beginnings)...I'd really like to find someone who would continue to be the babe's pediatrician for a while-I am looking for lots of suggestions cause I need to find someone who is on our insurance list...anyway, I am looking for someone who is open to a delayed or spaced out vaccination schedule, and who supports breastfeeding, and is open to attachment parenting...and who is in the Balt. City/County area. Who are your pediatricians?

Thanks,
Aimee

I recommend Dr. Tellerman at the Rotunda. He's great.

We see Dr. Tellerman as well, and I really like him, but we are switching to a family doctor (DO) in a small practice, mostly because I want someone who we can really get to know as a family.

Dr. Tellerman puts up with my not vaccinating and supports breastfeeding.

We have seen Kenneth Tellerman for almost 7 years. He's great and doesn't push anything we don't want. And you can walk to his office from your house!

I recommend Dr Ferra in Reisterstown. He's very supportive of breastfeeding, homeschooling, and delayed/non-vax. He's very sweet with the children and he is very current with alternative therapies. The first thing he recommended when my son had influenza was elderberries! How many peds do that?!

Just FYI: Per your suggestion I tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Ferra yesterday. I have a 10 day old baby. His nurse or secretary (Julie) informed asked me to bring my newborn son's immunization records with me to the appointment. I told her that he hasn't gotten the Hep B and I planned on delaying or not doing it. She said that Dr. Ferra will not accept me as a patient if I don't do all the vaccinations. She said that he will delay them up to one year, but will then you need to get them all!?!

Dr. Tellerman won't put any conditions like that on treating your baby.

Hi, Russsk

Would you mind sharing who you are going to for FP? Now that DC is getting older and I have decided that having a doctor for me and DP wouldn't be a bad idea I think I'd like to just see a FP for all of us as well.

Would you post or PM me the name?

I'm sorry to hear that you got that reaction from dr ferra's office. Perhaps the office staff says that but Dr ferra would be less rigid. I know he prefers if you vax but he's never given me any trouble about the alternative schedule I have invented. Maybe he doesn't want to do it anymore? i'm not sure. Anyway, I love him and that's saying alot since I generally hate doctors! Good luck in your search.
