I am moving to the Salt Lake City area at the end of the month and I was wondering if anyone had a ped that they would recommend.
My DD is 10 months old and we have been going to Dr. Sears so I do delay some vaccinations.

Thanks!

I've been using the same doc for over 17 years.

He isn't a ped though, he is a family practice doc.

When I was pregnant with Caite, our then ped refused to care for her as "Homebirth babies have so many health problems, he could not take the risk." My midwife told me about John and we have been seeing him since Caite was born.

He is so wonderful!

Totally cool with BFing, co-sleeping, no-vaxing, the whole nine yards. He really cares about his patients. He does run a bit behind some days but it is because he takes the time to talk to you and get your questions answered, makes sure you have all you need before he sends you out the door.

When our daughter passed away, he came to her funeral. He called me to see how I was and how everyone else was.

I just cannot say enough good things about him.

He is in Riverton, a bit of a drive depending on where you live, but IMO, worth the travel time.

His name is John L. Richards. If you want more info, let me know.

Thanks so much for the reply!
I have not actually ever been to SLC, so I'm unfamiliar with the area. My husband is a pilot and is based there, so he has done all of the house hunting. The house we bought is in Cottonwood.
I will definitely look him up when we get there next month! I'm a bit surprised there are not more AP-friendly peds there in Utah.

Actually, Utah is a very very mainstream, "don't question authority" kind of place, so not a whole not of free-thinking mamas, sadly. It is improving though!!

You will really like her, I am sure. She is a breastfeeding, birthcenter birthing, natural Mama. She's so great.

I see dr brunetti (general family doc) at the family foothill clinic, he never bats an eye at any of my strange stuff, nor does jerry kelty a PA there. Don't see a PA named Shirley Ala if you go there, she gives me a horrible time about vax and once I saw her (emergency and neither my regular docs were available) she said she was turning me in to the state because of my not vaxing yet... I can't stand her in general either.

I also see a ND, leslie peterson, they take some insurance companies too, she is wonderful.

I don't know any peds though.

Well, I've finally moved, so the search for a ped is for real now.

I am most interested in Heather Winesett and Louis Borgenicht but I am having trouble locating them. When I search Cottonwood Pediatrics it doesn't bring up her name and I am not sure where Louis Borgenicht practices out of.

Any help is appreciated!

Louis Borgenicht has a private practice on 300 S. and 800 E. Heather Winesett is doing her residency so that is probably why she isn't listed. The number to her office is: 801-314-4400.

GOOD LUCK! Oh, and welcome!!!!!

Lou Borgenicht is our ped. I like him a lot, but he's not the warm fuzzy personality type, if that matters to you. He was recommended to me by my midwife, and I like that from the very beginning, his languaged assumed no-circ and breastfeeding. He prefers to vax, but has never given me any grief over my decision not to. I get the impression that he has a lot of clients who do not.

He's a serious anti-nuke activist and an all-around renaissance guy. Here's his personal website:

http://www.louisborgenicht.com/index...tpage&Itemid=1
