Any recommendations for pediatricians in the WNY area, preferably toward the southtowns? We're in West Seneca. Someone I work with suggested WNY Pediatrics (Dr. Black or Dr. Mattimore) in Orchard Park, but I think the family is generally pretty mainstream, didn't breastfeed for more than a few months, etc. We'll probably be doing delayed/selective vaccines and I don't want to have to fight against a doctor suggesting early solids, formula supplementing, that sort of thing. We'll meet with/interview them but I've had a hard time trusting doctors to say what they really mean, lol, so I'd like some personal input!

Ive recommended my ped a few times before here! They are a little far from you though, in Amherst, Sheridan Pediatrics. The nurses are super nice and not pushy, they are fine with us not vaxing and he didnt push solids at 6 months. There are 3 in the practice unlike the 5+ in others. He also recommended the care connection if I had any problems. If you have any specific questions let me know!

Thanks! I haven't been able to find the specific practice listed under my insurance--it's not Amherst Pediatrics on Sheridan, is it? I used to go there as a kid, so that'd be easy! In any case, is there a particular doctor you recommend? That'd be easier to check under my insurance provider search.

No, they used to be on Sheridan I guess (before I went to them) but now they are on Grover Cleveland. Millersport changes to that. Maybe they changed their name? Lemme get their number for you........
Ok it is 836-3300. You can call and see if they take your insurance We see Dr. Joel Snitzer, he a short little young guy. You can switch off between the three though if you want or see all three at first and see who you like then see just one. HTH.

If you go with WNY Pediatrics in O.P., go with Dr. Lauria. He is pro EN and he respects parents' vaccine choices.

We use Carrow St Peds in Orchard Park, and we travel from Grand Island to go there. Since we're 40 min away I've tried new peds twice and always end up back at Carrow St (they used to be on Webster). I wouldn't say they're overly "natural" but they've always been right on about any diagnosis and supportive. With my third child, 10 months, I've just researched vaccinating and asked about delaying/spacing the ones we haven't done yet. They did try to assure me they were safe but said we could do that if I want.
