DS has been pooping in the potty exclusively for about two months and about half the time for about 8 months. Sometimes he tells me he has to go potty (most of the time) and sometimes I can tell if he has to poop and I ask him if he has to go. There is never an issue, he does it happily. He has even pooped twice in public bathrooms where he has told me he had to go.

The problem is the peeing in the potty we just can't seem to get that down. I don't pressure him, I never get angry when he pees in his pants, I just go with the flow. But I wonder if I should be doing more. He is wearing training pants most of the time but I have started to put regular underwear on him when we are at home, but no matter how many times I have asked him if he has to go pee he doesn't, he goes in his underwear. He does pee in the potty when he poops, and he will sit there but no pee comes out usually. He has been dry through the night for a long time.

Suggestions on what, if anything else, I should be doing?

Oh, ds is 32 months old.

TIA

I took training pants away a little over a month ago.. bought the thick gerber panties..so at least some wouldnt end up on the floor.she pied in then 2x's during those first 3 days. that was it.
Alot of times my ds says no when I ask if he needs the potty. I say try anyways. I definately don't let that no prevent him trying. I don't force him but I do things like, "lets read a story, try on the potty first" or "wanna feed the kitty? try on potty first" It usually works, ds is starting to be dry for most of the day. HTH!
Also, while he is sitting, run some water or wet down his hands. I have heard this can help.
