I was at the midwife the other day for unusual spotting and she said she felt an "egg sized" lump over my ovary. She said it could be nothing, because "sometimes the ovary gets hard when it ovulates" (?) but she wants to have me do an U/S anyway. Trouble is, the first day they can schedule me for is the 13th, so I'm freaking out a bit. Anyone have this sort of experience?

Oh, I should also say I had a cervical cancer scare about a year and a half ago but it turned out to be just "abnormal cell mutation, not cancerous" - yeah, definitely what you DON'T want to hear, your girl parts described as abnormally mutated.

Can someone please reassure me that things are probably going to be fine and I'm not going to kick it from ovarian cancer any time soon? DH and I both tried to feel it but couldn't find it. I've been feeling well otherwise, no pain or sickness or anything. And I just got my AF so I don't think I was ovulating or whatever she was saying.

Huh - what weird and mysterious stuff goes on in our bodies that we're normally unaware of!

Is it possible that if it was a cyst, it, er... "popped" (?) or whatever already, and that's why DH and I can't feel it? I'm pretty small around that area so there's not a whole lot of layers to feel through; how easy is one of those things to find / feel? Is it supposed to be "hard" or just a swollen area?
