My 12 year old son is looking for penpals. He likes to write and socialize but online searches come up with only email based penpals.

Anyone have a kid or two who might want to communicate with my Russell? He's 12, athletic, active, funny, very "boyish" and charming. He loves sports of all kinds, video games, military-related things, history, science, Mythbusters, etc.

I just sent you a private message. I just noticed you said your child doesn't want an e-mail pal, sorry. If he contacts my son via e-mail first then maybe he can get to know him and give him our PO box address to exchange letters.

no, that's fine! thank you. It isn't that I DON'T want email penpals, it's that the sites for them are so loosey goosey. These could be 45 year old pedophile inmates for all I/they know and email is harder for me to moniter. But an email address through here is more "justified", IMO, because I am at least familiar with the parent.

And I do want to encourage him to write actual letters...the process of writing, mailing, waiting, recieving is a fun one.
