Hello! I am looking to join a community that is less about the sort of rhetoric of "what to expect when you're expecting" and more about the realities of child rearing and more natural approaches. :)

I'm a 33 yr old PhD student in Montreal with two cats, hoping for a home birth with a midwife although it is looking v unlikely given that only a tiny amount of women ever get off the waitlist.

I am due in Jan 2016 and told my mom the news on Mother's Day. :)

Hello! :x

Welcome! I just joined the forums myself (I have a little one due on the 27th of December). I saw your post and wanted to say 'hi' as a very newly minted (this semester) phd that had my first baby in the middle of my graduate studies. This path can carry some unique challenges!

:w and congratulations on your pregnancy @kalechip! I hope you make it off the waiting list and are able to birth with a midwife. We haven't formed a January 2016 Due Date Club yet, but you can join in here in the meantime.
