any ideas on how well it works? my OB sent over a RX for me and im hoeping it helps does it cause constipation as well?

Is this your first time on anti-nausea meds? There is considerable evidence that Zofran is a lot safer and does not make the user feel drowsy. It used to be that Phenergan was cheaper, but the price of Zofran has recently come down.

It seems to work, according to everyone who I've talked to, but it does make the user really drowsy.

My OB office starts w/ Zofran and switches moms to Phenergan only if Zofran doesn't work. I loved the relief I got from Zofran. Oh and there's a generic now so my Rx was $10.

And the only side effect was the constipation.

I'd used it, and while it helped, I had a reaction, and would avoid it in the future (just some people react to meds sometimes). I had to take a benadryl with it.

well heres my delema i dont EVER take meds like ever maybe tylonal twice in the past 6years and antibiotics once and i was deadly ill i HATE takeing meds i feel like ym body will pretty much heal its self over time and i dont get sick nearly as anyone as im my family does i know some stuff you have to take meds for but most colds flu stuff like that nope no meds for me

I'm actually the freak that phenergan makes motion sick! It does something to my inner ears and balance. So I can't tolerate the stuff at all. It does not cause constipation like zofran does, but zofran has been shown to be safer.

someone mentioned the generic zofran. It is not identical to the brand. the medication itself is, but the other ingredients are not. brand zofran odt melts into the mouth like a liquid and one barely has to swallow anything. generic becomes a powder that, if one is having a horrid day, can trigger the gag reflex and cause vomiting. My compromise was to get the brand once (It had to be ordered now that the generic is available) and use the generic once the worst of the vomiting was over for that day.

I am taking this now because my insurance would only cover 12 pills a month of Zofran. I dont notice too much difference. I makes me slightly more loopy and I sleep better so I guess it does it job. It is alot more bitter and right now I am having trouble swallowing anything thing in pill form but I cant complain too much about it.

well i got the RX but ive yet to take any and today i woke up no ms! WOOOT it fels soo good not to feel soo sick!

I experienced near instant relief from my m/s as soon as I took the first Zofran tablet. But now I've only pooped twice in 13 days.

That's basically what I did!

Cutting down the Zofran to "emergency only" greatly relieved my constipation! I haven't taken it in more than a week and I'm happy to report that I'm pooping multiple times daily!

your dr can call your ins co and explain the medical need to have more than a few tablets once a month. The ins. co cannot override your drs orders and keep you from getting meds you need. but they can limit how many you get at once. My ins will only cover 3 days worth (12 tablets) at a time. Maybe your pharmacist misunderstood and that's what your ins does?
