Oh that baby looks so cozy!

Hmm... come to think of it didn't I see you wearing your baby on Airline? LOL, that was so weird. What was that anyway, a moby? A Didymous? It was red, right?

Hi Amy! Yes it was red - you have a good memory! She was sleeping in these photos, but here it is: http://www.birdcrossstitch.com/chinatrip/Pc300037a.jpg

It's a long piece of jersey fabric I got from www.pmorganics.com and wrapped like this: http://www.peppermint.com/wrapcrosscarry.htm
I just made a woven one tonight too so I can try it tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'll still like the knit one more since that material is so soft. Too bad I don't think she's carrying that exact fabric any more. It was softer than some other knit jersey's I've bought.

Oh, so you made that.... how many yards did you need? I'm thinking about buying a Moby and then when I went and looked at that jersey it looks like it would cost more to make one. Did you just hem the edges?

We were in Chongqing, and then Guangzhou.

Amy - I think it was about 2 yards? I cut the fabric into strips and sewed them together to make it long enough. Since it's knit jersey fabric I didn't have to sew around the whole outside too though since it doesn't unravel.

That was really you on Airline? I love that show and DH and I both cried during that story! I was so impressed that the mom had a sling! On a side note coming from a car seat tech I think she should have been in a car seat. I have issues watching that show though, not enough kids in seats! LOL But the sling addict in me won over and I loved the fact that she was wearing the baby!

Yah - I don't think many people bring a car seat to and from China, because there aren't any seatbelts in the Chinese cabs to put one in. It was scary not having one for her there, but it was also scary being in the hospital three days we were there. They had really nice and good doctors though thankfully (5000 patients per day coming through the children's hospital we were in, since it's the biggest city in the world). It's pretty cool that most people walk in China though rather than drive cars. That was quite a change from the U.S.
I think our daughter was in shock the first time we took a walk in the U.S. because there were no people around us!

How old is she? I would love to go there to adopt a child. Its something we are thinking about when our kids are a little older. Its so neat that you were on tv during the trip. Was that planned or did it just happen? How long ago did you go? Sorry about all the questions, I just have never met anyone that has done that and its something I have always wanted to do!

That's wonderful! I highly recommend adopting! We are going back for our 2nd baby soon too. We came home on New Year's Eve right around midnight (thus the reason they had us staged with the wine, but then they forgot to mention why on the show - haha). We are starting the paperwork now for our 2nd little girl, so we should travel in Fall of 2005 (we're hoping).

Edited to add: She's 16months old now - forgot you asked!
