Does anyone know of a beginner's piano instruction book that I could help my almost 8 year old son with? I haven't done a search at Amazon yet, just wondered if anyone here had a good recommendation.

He wants me to teach him piano...I don't know piano, but I can play the flute.

Help, please!

The Schaum books are very easy to follow; if you're pretty familiar with musical theory and such, you might want to try the Thompson series.

I'm using the Alfred's Basic Piano Prep Course to teach piano to my 6 year old daughter. I know how to read music, and I can play the piano one-handed, but I do not know the fingerings and stuff. These books are making it very easy to teach her. I bought them from Rainbow Resource - http://www.rainbowresource.com

You might also take a look at the ones FUN-Books carries. John Holt highly recommended them for either children or adults:
Mrs. Stewart's Piano Lessons. It's one I've meant to get for myself someday. They also carry a video of the lessons. Lillian
