Do you play the piano? Piano players beginner to advanced welcome here! What are you playing these days? What do you want to work on next?

I am picking it back up after a long hiatus. I am working on Bach 2 part invention in D minor. Also Reverie by Debussy (this one is going slow!)

I want to get the sheet music for the song "100 years" by 5 for fighting.

I am also coming back to the piano after years without one . . . we were given the "family piano" (was my grandmother's originally, and then went through 4 of her 6 children so that their children could take lessons; I studied it the longest, so she told me to take it) in October. I played as much as I could through the end of my pregnancy (baby LOVED it!) but have yet to sit down to it again since la bebe arrived on the 9th. Sometime this week I AM going to tie baby to me in the wrap and play a little, just to see what her reaction is!

When I took lessons (for about 6 years) I played a lot of classical, but also really loved Dixieland jazz. I really want to master Moonlight Sonata, but haven't yet . . . ditto the Minute Waltz.

DH also plays (his mother has been teaching piano lessons since she was a teenager), but I don't think he has sat down at the piano since it was moved in. Someday I hope that we will be playing duets together, and teaching our kiddos . . .

Hey me, I'm a piano mama!

We just got a keyboard this year as a family present. I grew up with a piano but only took 3 months worth of lessons. My mom teases that I only took enough to learn to read music, LOL.

I'm working on relearning everything that I used to play when I was younger. It's not like riding a bike at all!

Bach Minuet in G nos 4 & 7 from "A Little Notebook for Anna Magdelena". Also Bouree by Bach since my DD likes it.

I have a hard time though because I can only seem to learn to play a song if I've heard it before.

I play the piano. Well, used to i guess. I took around 6 years of lessons but never found a teacher in PR so havent taken any since. I stopped playing completely when i got pregnant (the stress) and have been too busy now that i"m colelge. But I am dying to get back to it, I just dont know where to go about it, do i sign up for some lessons. just get out old music, or what? I see my piano and its dusty and just calling me... any suggestions from other piano playing mamas as to how to get back into it?
