AAAAHHH - tomorrow is homemade pizza night, and I normally use this fantastic recipe to make my dough...BUT I have no honey!! And I have no chance to go out and get some...I have searched and searched online but all the recipes that are rated anything decent call for honey.

Does anyone have a really good pizza dough recipe that does not use honey...(I have sugar, sunflower oil, flour, a bunch of herbs/spices, butter, soy milk..)

HELP!

I don't see the point of any sweetener in pizza dough. No sweetener in the sauce either. Pizza is meant to be savory. And actually I've never even heard of honey in pizza dough. Maybe I live a sheltered life.

1 c. warm water
2 1/4 tsp. instant yeast
3 c. flour (I use a mix of white, wheat, and milled flax)
2 tsp. olive oil
1 tsp. salt

It's a Kitchenaid recipe except that I don't use all white flour and I use instant yeast so I don't have to proof it. Knead for 2-3 minutes. Rise for an hour. And roll out (makes 2 medium size pizzas). And if you use King Arthur flour, it's way better than ordinary flour.

The purpose of sweetener is to activate the yeast. Without it the yeast will not grow.
