Who here has encapsulated the placenta? I'm planning on it, but not sure how to. I have read a few websites to steam it first, but does that have to be done?
What is the best way to go about it to get the most benifits?

I bought the kit from PlacentaBenefits.info. It had all the instructions and supplies to do it, so it made it easy. My husband actually did most of the work! I just made up the pills after he had drained, steamed, sliced, dehydrated and ground up the placenta.

I would definitely highly recommend encapsulating your placenta. And, if you don't want to go through all the hassle of trying to gather necessary supplies, reading up on preparation methods, etc., then I would also highly recommend PBI's kits.

I did mine. I just cut it up & dehydrated. Seemed like steaming it first would reduce the nutrients. I barely even rinsed it before I dried it.

There was a great thread a few years back with info on this and it talked about adding a few ingredients to help with the smell. I ended up making mine into a tincture (the recipe was also in that thread) and it was really easy. I planned on also encapsulating it but never got around to it.

Found a thread with good info: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...=encapsulating

I don't know for sure, but since cooking veggies makes them lose nutrients, I figured it might do the same for the placenta. Plus, I had to do everything myself, so I didn't want yet another thing to do.
