From what I undestand, Alaska has enough oil to supply the US at projected growth of consumption for like 300 years. (Or more?) And at less than $1.50/gallon.

I dont have the whole story on that though. I think its in a national park or something.

Yeah, because the ONLY negative consequence of our fossil fuel use was "global warming".

CBS and any other for profit news source has a direct conflict of interest. They advertise for the company's that are profiting off of oil and the war in Iraq.

I just heard a report that the planet Mercury appears to be shrinking because its core is cooling?

FTR, I do not believe in "global warming" propaganda but I seem to feel that the sun is stronger than it was when I was a kid, 50 years ago. I thought this was because I am older and more sensitive, and "flashy", but I know the sun feels stronger and the heat seems to penetrate my body more. Just an observation.

non biased enough?

http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/servicer...af(2008)03.pdf

30-70 cents off in 2025 isn't going to do anything (its 2008 and we are already at 143--70 off what it's going to be in 2025 will change the price of gas about 1-3cents at most)

All the estimates out there tell us ANWR can supply 1-5% of the US consumption of oil...show me one that says otherwise and we can go from there in debating it. I can't find one that comes anywhere near the 300 year thing...

http://are.berkeley.edu/courses/ECON...lecture2.3.pdf

Even the department of energy (currently trying to convince us that we need to drill in ANWR) has these same numbers...

they may be government bias...but...they are trying to use these numbers to convince us to drill...so, really, can you use bias as a reason not to listen to them? even the ones on the "do it" side are using these numbers...
