Planning on CDing???

Just wondering who else it planning on cloth diapering the babe they are expecting... wanted to compare stashes and keep each other up to date on what we are collecting!

So far I have two newborn soakers - a simply sage that the diaper fairy brought me
and a Bridget's wool soaker that is yellow and white stripes with little sheep on it. For newborn dipes I'm not planning on spending a lot on these because I tend to have big babies, so I've just been checking out the TP for newborn stuff. I have 3 KHWs and 2 FMGs on their way!

For the smalls and mediums I will probably buy mostly new - but I want to wait to some extent to see if we are having a boy or girl. I do however have an order in for 24 medium Loveybums (I love her stuff so much that I couldn't resist).

I am! I'm so excited, too. I hated sposies with my dd. Didn't know I had a choice.

My dear, sweet, beautiful, fabulous, and extremely generous sisinlaw is sending me everything she has! I'm sure I'll want to get a few new things, but I'll be pretty well hooked up.

Yes, we will be! I have to pull out my son's old stash -- mostly prefolds and covers for the first few months. My son has been FuzziBunz exclusively for almost a year now ... I haven't made any diapering purchases in so long ... I'm going to have to stay away from all the cute new stuff!

I am glad I hung on to most of Lili's cloth dipes--but so many of them are super-girly so they may or may not get used! I think I'll do fitteds (kissaluvs?) to contain the runny newborn BMs, but plain prefolds after that. In my quest for the perfect cover to go w/my plain ol' prefolds, I discovered HunnyBuns--custom-made, side snap PUL covers--they're heaven-sent IMO.
I think it's www.hunnybuns.com--you can check at www.diaperpin.com

Ahem...this is all supposing I don't just do EC!

happy diapering!!

Count me in!

I am trying very hard to resist purchasing anything yet, but I can't help scoping things out. I have just recently gotten hooked on wool, and will definitely be scoping out some nb wool. Probably kissaluv 0 and prefolds -- unless, of course this is a girl, and then all bets are off. :LOL
Me Me Me.

And as a first timer, I have *NO* idea what to buy for a stash.
I got rid of most of our old diapers, because they were all falling apart from age & overuse. I did keep the newborn ones I made for Davey, but I have to put snaps on them. I'm knitting a newborn soaker, and I'm messing around with a crochet wrap. I'm constantly sewing diapers anyway, so I'll just switch my current hoarding size from Lg to Nb

Me Me!!

We used 'sposies on our first two because I had no idea how far cloth had come. My friend talked me into trying cloth with our third, and I have LOVED it. I sew my own and now have a cd biz, so I am so looking forward to finding out the sex so I can sew a HUGE pile of new dipes during the nesting phase. LOL

Cloth diapers are so much fun!!

Me, too, me too!! This is our first, so I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the information, all the choices, but I am soooo looking forward to cding! DH is on board - not much fazes him - and he's used to my lunapads & keeper anyway, so it's not such a stretch!
me too!!

this is our second and just like truvie, we've been exclusively fuzzi bunz. we'll probably stick with that (i love them and they are sooo easy) but may get some new colors or even the new frog print!! (at the bottom of the cloth diapers page here: http://www.amotherstouch.biz/store/).

We will be CDing too. Most of my stash from DS is from The Baby's Bum, and most of my NB/Small stash will be too. We didn't start CDing until he was 13 months old, so I have very little small or NB stuff. I love my Baby's Bum stuff. I will probably have some Blue Moon Diapers too if she ever reopens. We'll use Fuzzi Bunz for nighttime.

I have 2 Small Aristocrat Soakers and no other covers.

I might try some infant prefolds with covers for the really early days, but I doubt it. I really hate touching wet diapers, so AIOs will probably be mostly it for us.

Cheers!
I'm torn on the prefold issue - I only use fitted and wool for DS and I like them a lot but those prefolds with pins are awfully cute!!! And I'm thinking it might be a good choice for those first few weeks until s/he grows into the small fitteds. Seems like a better option then spending a lot on newborn fitteds. But oh I just don't know!

This will be the first newborn I'm CDing - I used sposies with my first two boys and our youngest just got switched to CDs about six months ago.

Hang out on the cloth diapering board here on MDC you will soon be corrupted and end up with a bigger and better stash then ever imagined!!! :LOL

Seriously, go check ou the board if you haven't already been there and do a search on "newborn", the first stash question gets asked a lot and you will find all sorts of great information over there. I'm use to CDing an older child so I imagine I will need more for a newborn. But it's sort of a live and learn thing - I use to have too few, now I have too many!

I like prefolds for the first few weeks because they are so cheap you can have a huge stack of them. It seemed at that age I changed a diaper every hour (? I can't remember anymore!). But I think I had 3 dozen infant prefolds and I'm pretty sure I was doing laundry every day or so.

I think I'll have to get at least a couple size 0 Kissaluvs, just because they are so cute. Mostly I have to try really hard to just not look at the diapering sites!

Great feedback thank you. I think you have convinced me that I will get some! Did you use snappis or pins? I think pins are soooooooo cute but I'm wondering if Snappis are easier and I should get some of those too.
Well, I just bought 3 kissaluvs, and I have tons of CPFs, infant and preemie, left from DD. I also have 6 FB left over. Truthfully, I have enough to cd this baby already, but I think I'm gonna get some cute fitteds, and maybe a few FCB AIOs if I can. I am also wanting to try out the Very Baby AIO pattern... Who knows what this stash will be made of before baby gets here, I was just scouting the TP a minute ago
: It's SO fun to dream about :LOL

For those of you who are not yet addicted, get over to the Diapering board ASAP!!! Click on as many cute links as you can, and start dreaming of all the cute prints that will cover the new little tush in you life

MEEEE!! I've been TTC for a while and buying baby stuff got me through.
I have an awesome FMBG stash... I am planning to use lots of CPFs with covers - either plain covers or the covers of a few AIOs that I bought, figuring they could do double duty.

I have mostly neutral prints but several SUPER girly ones and now that I'm having ONLY girl vibes I'm really hoping for a girl so I can use my cute dipes!

You know, I bought both but never used either (and I also bought the pins because they are cute
). One end of the snappi would inevitably come undone, and I got scared that it would poke my baby. Anyway, just having a prefold snugly in a velcro or snap cover worked for us!

If you wanna use prefolds w/o pins or snappis the PERFECT cover for that is Polar Babies fleece wraps--they're made of recycled soda bottles, come in lettered sizes, like A thru F (you can really skip every other size and they still work great). They're a bit hard to find in cute prints, but SO worth it--you just fold the dipe in thirds lenghtwise, lay it in the cover and voila!
