What can you do with plastic grocery bags to make as a gift/craft?<br><br>
I can recycle, but was trying to make something useful out of them.<br><br>
Any ideas, brilliant ladies?

I know I've seen a show where they cut them into strips to tie into yarn and then knitted them into a bag. I want to say it was Knitty Gritty.

I just bought a book called "not your mama's crochet" where they use them to make a crocheted purse. I'm definately going to try it once I finish my current projects.

I think I saw an idea somewhere to wrap a present in one- it would have to be a colorful bag I guess. Basically you just tie off the top of the bag with some ribbon and cut off the handles. Then you cut into the top to make a poufy bow/flower looking thing.

This is more of a winter craft, but you can cut them into pieces and tie the strips around a metal hanger that has been shaped into a circle. If you cut the strips into fairly uniformly sized pieces and really bunch them closely together on the hanger, it can look really cool!

I can't think of any crafts. I use them as wet bags for cloth diapers when we go out.

In addition to bags, I've also seen them used as placemats and kitchen rugs.
