My ped did a blood allergy test on my daughter and wheat, soy, and corn came back positive. Out of those 3 the soy had the lowest number (.53) whereas the corn and the wheat were both Level IIs.

We went to the allergist today and we tested about 60 things via skin (both environmental and food). The wheat and corn had NO reaction!!!!! But THEN she had a reaction to peanuts and yeast which were both negatives via the blood!!! The peanut spot was a lot larger than the soy spot but smaller than the mold spots....I know from her blood test that the mold allergy is considered a level 4.

So I'm about as confused as you can get right now. The allergist said she definitely considers this a peanut allergy and yeast allergy.

Her opinion is to do an ED with peanut, yeast, and wheat. We brought her in because she was having a few episodes of severe abdominal cramps and vomiting. We were convinced that this was an easy wheat allergy diagnosis. But there wasn't even a red mark let alone a raised area. AND the wheat test was repeated!

So in your opinion what do you think about all of this? Is it possible to have a false positive blood test? Is it possible that the yeast and wheat are so closely related that they were mixed up?

And what do you think about the peanut allergy? She has had nuts before and I haven't noticed a reaction........but we are trying to find out how this all affects her excema.

ETA...she was also allergic to peas. Didn't even think that was possible!!
