Hi all! I don't post here very often, but I am desprately seeking help to figure out what is wrong with my breast. Any advice or thoughts are so welcome.
My son is almost 11 mo. old and I have been breastfeeding since his birth. About 2 months ago I started to think that my right breast felt strange. I just became very aware of it, and it seemed kind of thick or hard or maybe even a little sensitive. So after a week or so of feeling like that, I started feeling around to see if I felt anything in particular. Then I thought I found a lump, or maybe even several lumps. I immediately thing cancer, even though I am only 26 and there is absolutely no cancer anywhere in my family. I also eat pretty healthy and excerise. Anyway, I agonized for weeks that it may be cancer and was too terrified to have it checked. I finally did though, and the doctor said that she did not feel anything abnormal and that the lumpiness of my breast was normal. She did order an ultrasound just to be sure. So I had the ultrasound and everything was completely normal. Now I am very frustrated because my breast continues to get very very sore and tender and sometimes feels swollen. I have not had any fever or flu like symptoms that would indicate mastitis. My mother is an herbalist and she did some kinesiology to test what she thought it may be. I tested very high on herbs for lymph glands and not hardly at all for cancer herbs. I am so stumped about what is wrong with me and I am so weary of going around for 2 months with this sore, tender breast. My nipple is very sensitive and sore also. Sometimes when my son nurses a lot so that my breast is very emptied out, I barely feel the soreness or hardness, but then soon it returns. Please, please any suggestions??
thanks so much,

I don't feel quailified to give you this answer, but maybe something's better than nothing? My best friend had something similar that they eventually decided the lumpiness was scar tissue from a clogged or damaged duct. They surgically removed what felt like the twine/ lumpiness after about a year of complaints from her. It only interupted nursing on that side for less than a week. She lied and said she had weaned dd, 2 yo, or they wouldn't have done it.

First of all, thanks so much for your replies. Ja mama, would you by any chance be able to give me your friend's email address or I could give you mine to give to her. I would LOVE to talk to her and see if maybe I have what she had. I'm not exactly sure that it is just plugged ducts, seems like that wouldn't have lasted for 2 months or more, would it? I do think I may have a little thrush, but would that make one particular spot sore and thick feeling? The main sore, lumpy area is kind of on the mid/ outer area of my breast. If you could compare the breast to a clock, it would be at about 10 o'clock area. (Sorry, funny comparison
). I am just so frustrated because I cannot get to the bottom of this problem and I am soooo tired of walking around worrying about this, constantly feeling at my breast to see if I can feel anything or if it still feels the same. I used to love nursing but lately I feel nervous when I nurse my son because I'm so worried about my breast. I don't know if their is such a thing as a breast specialist, but maybe I should see one if there is???
thanks so much for listening!!
blessings,
