Ladies,
I enjoy sewing but am now seeing how limited I am and how much time I am wasting because I do not have a serger. It is time to make the leap and purchase one, but I can't find a lot of information on which ones would be a good fit for me. I am not that "adventurous" and would basically be using it to turn prefolds into contours, hemming PJs, making CD soakers, etc. I know I want at least a 4-thread capability.
I also want one that is fairly easy to thread. I remember my grandma had to take hers into the shop to get threaded every single time and it was a nightmare. In fact, we called it "the beast." Do you have any recommendations as to a good, solid serger that is low-frills and dependable? I would REALLY appreicate it!
I don't know what price range you're looking in, but the Brother 1034d has gotten good reviews everywhere I've checked and it's supposed to be easy to thread. You can get it on Amazon or from Walmart.com for about $200 I think.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could
be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
