UGH. I dont even know where to begin with this post.

A friend of my husband's found a stray pitbull female a few weeks ago. She is only a few months old, I would say around 6 maybe 7 months old. When he brought her over for me to see I noticed her teats were a little swollen as was her vulva. I figured she was in heat and told him that she had probably gotten out of her yard becuase she was in heat. He refused to post signs up and said he'd keep her. So he bought dog food, a bed, etc etc and started out ok. But yesterday, he told me that he thinks the dog is pregnant!!!!!! He said her stomach is getting bigger and that her teats are pretty swollen and that milk comes out of them!!!!!! I am like freaking out, telling him that puppies are so much hard work and that she is too young to have a litter etc etc but all he sees is dollar signs. He thinks he hit the jackpot becuase now he can sell her puppies! My husband told him that he would probably not make much after figuring the cost of puppy food, puppy shots, worming, etc and any momma dog vet bills and he gave my dh a blank look and said that he would not do any of that stuff.

I am soooooo worried about her! She is a really sweet dog and I know she is raelly young to be having puppies. Dhs' friend asked me to help him when the puppies come but I am really torn. I would like to help, to make sure the pups get a least some decent care but I dont agree at all with what he is doing and feel like helping him will be like telling him it's ok. What should I do?

P.S. I thought about calling the Humane Society but he would know it was me.

Well at this point the puppies are going to be born whether with him or at the pound doesn't make much difference. Since he has no way of knowing what these pups may be crossed with I doubt he's going to make a dime--he probably wouldn't make a dime anyway--even with not doing shots etc. It will be an expensive lesson learned about the doggie game. Pit Bull crosses are not exactly in high demand so people aren't going to give him a bunch of money. What kind of help is he expecting from you?

Also, this could very well be a pseudo pregnancy in such a young bitch.

I am not sure what kind of help he wants. I know he wants help with the actual delivery. But i'm not usre what else. And I agree with not getting money for pit crosses. Although people in our city love having pits as status symbols so he very well may sell them. Wont be to great owners though. And if it is a pseudo pregnany, I would be THRILLED.
