Hi!
I hope you wise cd mamas can help me, as I am about at my wit's end for a nighttime diapering solution. My newborn boy (11 days old, 10 lbs 2 oz at birth!) is a super-duper soaker and I don't know what to do with him at night. And when I say "night," I'm talking less than five hours in a dipe (he still poops at least once at night, usually around 1:30-2:30 a.m., and I get up to change him again by 6:30 a.m.).

He has so far soaked through Kissaluvs 0s with doublers and a cover, doubled UBCPFs w/ a Bummis and/or Bumkins cover, Fuzzi Bunz stuffed w/ a MOE insert AND an UBCPF, and the last two nights we have had atrocious experiences with stuffed Happy Heinys (HH boy insert and an UBCPF) where he has soaked through them and then pooped in the a.m. -- and the HH somehow had slid down around his little butt so the poop went straight into his swaddling blanket (delightful to wash).

In desperation I tried sposies in the middle of the night, but by 6:30 he soaks out the sides of those too. WHAT DO I DO???

Thanks for any help you can offer

Hmmm.... Sounds like your little one is getting plenty to eat
I use either 2 hemp stuffers (3layers hemp fleece each) or a trifolded 3 layer hemp fleece soaker in my pocket dipes for night, and I usually don't have any leaking. HH do seem to leak for me, though. You might try a hemp fitted w/ a wool soaker? Check the TP out to see if anyone has any!

Good Luck!!!

We tried a lot of different things, but so far the only thing that has worked is a recycled wool set from www.righteousbaby.com (with a snap-in diaper) and a hemp doubler. Sometimes I put her in one of the RB FLAG diapers with the doubler and then the wool shell over everything. We've gone the last 2 nights with that system for the WHOLE night and no leaks. She has finally stopped pooping at night...woo-hoo. I think what works so well about those diapers is 1)Hemp, 2)a good fit around her little thighs and 3)WOOL...love it
Hope that helps!

I'm not sure if they make them that small, but joeybunz hemparoos work great. My DS is the heavies wetter in the world and a Fuzzi bunz stuffed with 2 JB's is the ONLY thing that has ever worked on him at night (for 12 hours straight). Sometimes I will top it with a wool cover to make sure he doesn't leak. The prefolds just weren't cutting it. The JB's are expensive, but worth it IMO. You can use them as doublers later. I was lucky enough to get them for 20% and free shipping off when lilpaddedseats was having a sale.

Does anyone know of any diapering sites that sell JB's that is having a sale right now??

Well that's what I reckon. Boys really can pee can't they? But surely with a little one like that it's a fit issue rather than too much pee! I thought I had a super soaker (I did compared with all the girls in our family!) but now I use a Stacinator cover pretty much anything works for the night. Plus they don't mark his legs which is great! If you do have too much pee the wool absorbs it anyway, so you can just wash the cover rather than having to change the sheets.

I was desperate before turning to the wool side for night. It's worth a shot!

Also congrats on your new baby boy
Boys are cool!

I usually use a prefold w/ snappi and Liz's Cloth diaper doubler under an Aristocrat. I've also had a perfect record with my Liz's Cloth All-in-One and a Liz's Cloth diaper doubler. I really love her diaper doublers, so awesome. I haven't done the AIO w/o the doubler overnight, but I know that if I forget it in the other combo the Aristocrat is saturated by morning (not the sheets, thank goodness, but the Aristocrat). I don't even want to tell you what happens if I let him drift off in a daytime dipe and don't wake him up for a change. Yuck!

Good luck,
Crystal
