I just had my baby last Wed. I bought a bottle of Dawn Friday to use washing diapers. I have washed three loads only using 1 squirt per load. Today when I put the diapers in, I sat the Dawn on the dryer. When my oldest ds went to take the diapers out of the washer the Dawn was in the washer with the diapers and 3/4 empty
My 6 yr old ds said he opened the washer and the Dawn fell in when the diapers were washing, he didn't tell anyone till I threatened it out of him (he is bad for messing with stuff that he knows he's not suppossed to and trying to blame someone else). So I have ran them through about 6 rinses and the soap is still up to the top of the washer
Any ideas? I have a feeling all I'm going to get done for the next few days is rinseing the soap out of these. Thank God it was almost all fitteds because I have 3 dz prefolds and 5 covers clean at the moment.

Thanks,
Amy

Ya, and just cold water ONLY, no warm or hot...or perhaps, if the offending child is old enough, make him help, i'm seeing a rinse tub in the backyard, a hose, and a whole day of scrubbing and rinsing dipes in someones future!

since you said they are fitteds, I'm assuming they have snaps so my suggestion of boiling them a few at a time is going to be totally useless. I would suggest adding some boiling water to each load though, just for the added heat - maybe scoop out some of the suds before the water starts to drain so they don't settle back on to the diapers.

that totally sucks mama, I hope they rinse out quickly for you

Oh, man, that sucks! I agree, open it up and scoop as much of the bubbles out as you can each load, and just wash, wash, wash. HOT water. What a bummer.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm still washing but there is no more suds just a little bit of bubbles. I'm hoping that those will be gone after this wash or the next.
