My Power company just dropped off a letter stating the power will be out on my entire road for 7.5 hours tomorrow! That means no water or power and I am having a home waterbirth. The baby has dropped and I have been feeling crampy and terrible for a few days now. Please send me some stay put vibes. Baby is not allowed to come tomorrow or I am going to unfortunately have to go to the hospital which I REALLY don't want

Can you not birth at a friend's home? I know it's not ideal, but better than the hosp if you are wanting an HB, of course.<br><br>
That said, hopefully the worry is for nothing and the babe stays put through out tomorrow. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

I have no friends up here with suitable houses. One is building and living in a 5th wheel and one isn't a fan of Homebirths and I wouldn't even want to ask.,,<br><br><br>
So today and tomorrow I am just going to relax drink lots of water and keep my feet up. I don't usually make it to 37 weeks and I have so I really want to have my waterbirth in my own home with just me and my family. Here's hoping baby is down with the plan

Fill up the tub and get your hands on a gas camping stove and some candles, just in case. All will be good!

Get really worried about it! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> Seriously, fretting about it happening is more than likely to prevent it, since it will raise your stress hormones and give the baby some "stay put, it's not safe" messages.<br><br>
I'm sure it'll be ok, and you can recover your zen the day after. Best of luck.

yes, get really really worried, and do a lot of preparing for if it happens (make sure your hospital bag is 100% packed), come up with contingency plans. It's like the whole umbrella thing; if you bring the umbrella, it won't rain.

I have been stressing and I had a little don't come tomorrow please talk lol so here's hoping I have VERY fast labors my last was only 45 minutes start to finish so if it does happen I do have a small generator for light and we will just have to skip the waterbirth

I made it! The power ended up off for over 13 hours and of course it rained the entire day so it was a long one! But no baby <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"><br><br>
