Which are the best and which are the most affordable and which give you the biggest bang for the buck??!

I am working on a convert and OS seems like the way to go. I used MEOS and didn't like them, but that was a while ago...

TIA!!

I'd say Ecobaby, but I'm curious what you didn't like about the MEOS, because the Ecobaby has a similar style...

I really really like the Mutt os ov fitteds. www.muttaqinbaby.com They make up the bulk of our stash and they are SOOOOOOO soft and cushy on dd's bum!

But for a newbie, maybe wonderoos would be a good idea? Pockets usually go over well with newbies and a one-size pocket could possible go over even better!(www.naturalbabies.com) Also, cuddlebuns get good ratings from a lot of people.(www.cottontailbabies.com) I have never tried them before but supposedly they are great. Wonderoos don't fit my dd that well so we didn't really like them.

The ecobaby ones are nice, but are so plain. I like pinheads.

http://www.necessitae.com/allstores.php

You'll have to get there on the 15th and 30th of every month, as they sell out very fast.

Such a tough question because I really think it depends on the shape of the baby.

For us, the Muttaqins worked best as far as one-sized diapers we've tried. Wonderoos didn't cut it (honestly, suedecloth gives me the heeby-jeebies) but the fit wasn't terrible -- although like a pp said, often pockets are good at scoring converts; SOS diapers resulted in a *terrible* fit on Katherine, but many swear by them as their favorite diaper!; I didn't like the fit of the MEOS on Katherine ... I don't know if it was because she's a long, skinny babe or what; and... hm... I'm sure I've tried more, but Muttaqins were my favorite hands-down.

I think the snap settings could be a bit confusing at first for a newbie though, so if you showed her one, make sure to demonstrate the snap adjustments! (ooh, and like a pp said, the OV is *so* squishy!)

Oh, I forgot about Wonderoos, they might indeed be a good idea.

She is rather tight on $$ so the plushy options are not going to happen unless there is a miracle on the Trading Post

I am also thinking about trying to find a used nb stash of fitteds and then jumping to FB mediums, seconds. This worked for a friend of mine.

I didn't like MEOS because they were so fat in the crotch! I did like the pinheads and muttaqin though, yum yum!

I love MEOS. You have to wash them a lot of times before they reach their maximum absorbancy and you definitely need the snap in liner when they get older. I've tried Mutts also which I liked Ok and they were very absorbant but for the money you can't beat MEOS.

We have been using our one-size snoogiesnaps fitteds since Adam was born and have been happy with the fit; her prices are reasonable. She makes several other styles in OS, too. I have one of her OS fleece AIOs and it works very well for Adam (we traded for it a few months ago).
www.snoogiesnaps.com

I love our Mutts, they fit my 30+lb toddler well, AND they snap down to fit my newborn well.

Wonderoos didn't snap down to itty sizes well, and my wide toddler outgrew the waist before 35lb, they won't work for a tall rise toddler either.

Little Lambs are the cheapest one-sizer out there, but they're not very well reccomended. In our experience they don't absorb much, wick easily, and fit all wonky. My toddler barely fit in them at 30lb, and I know they wouldn't have snapped down for my newborn.

I love our Mutts!!!

Wonderoos didn't work for us at all, they stopped fitting my DD when she was 8-9 months.

MEOS weren't absorbant enough.

I never liked any of the one size I tried! I tried sos, mother ease, and another one. I gave up on them after that! LOL

The best imo are SOS. They are really absorbant without a doubler and fit a wide range of sizes (they fit great on both my newborn and my 28 pound 2yo). The down side is they are hard to obtain and they take forever to dry.

My favorite OS are ecobaby grow with me. The only downside is they don't fit as large of a child as some other OS dipes (as previously mentioned they are similar in design to MEOS, but they are less stretchy so they don't fit as big of a child). These are nice and absorbant. ANd they are organic. Plus they are easy to obtain. Montana's Diaper Store has the best price on these I have seen.

MEOS fit a large range of sizes, are easy to obtain, and are inexpensive. I am not wild about their absorbancy though. I suggest skipping the ME doublers/liners and spending your money on better doublers, which you will need. Doublers I like are Joey Bunz (kinda pricey though), kissaluvs super soaker doublers, and infant prefolds (the price is right, but they are a little bulky).

Have not tried mutts. They are cute, but I don't care about having cute prints, so this aspect isn't really a big draw for me. The downside of mutts imo is they are not the easiest to obtain. Not as bad as SOS, but not as easy to get as some of the others. Though if your friend hasn't had her baby yet she might have time to procure some.

Cuddlebuns for softness and ease-of-use, Mutts for absorbancy, and MEOS for affordability. Right now I reach for my bikini-cut cuddlebuns the most.
I've never tried a SOS; just can't seem to get my hands on one.
