In case you were looking for a review (sorry if you're not!) I found FIAR to be common sense. The book didn't really offer me any great info to help with schooling. All the subjects set out with each book we could have figured out ourselves. Great concept but an easy one to do without the book, IMO. The only neat thing I got from it was the idea of a map of the world where we place a story-disc for each book we have read in it's region (like Madeline in France).

I LOVE the idea of building dd's education off of books, DH wants curricula books for the most part. i build off of books for my preschoolers this year, but I need to challenge and engage a 2nd grader in the fall, so I need extra ideas if I'm going to do it on my own. I know I'm getting Saxon for her math, now I'm just researching what else I'm going to use.
