Postpartum I bled for two weeks, it's now been a month and I'm bleeding again. Could this be AF? We're still breastfeeding on demand.. is it possible? When did AF return for you?

About 45 days pp. I guess we aren't those lucky ones that get to keep AF away from 1 year

Supposedly under 56 days PP it's not considered trye AF- I had the same thing both times and was AF free for 12 mos (self induced) after my 1st & still no AF in sight 3m PP

AF returned when DS was 6 weeks old, despite the fact that he was a nursing machine and ate all the time. W/ DD it returned at 11 weeks I think, and for a few months I got it every 2 weeks. Boy that was NOT fun. I'm not one of the lucky ones either. Sorry it's back for you. :

It is not uncommon to have a resurgence of pp bleeding at around this time. It happened to me both times, and I didn't really get AF back for at least 6 months afterwards.

Also, from a birth control standpoint, just because you have a "period" doesn't mean you are ovulating. If you want to see whether you are fertile, you could try charting your waking temps. Look in the fertility forum for more on this...

I also had an episode of red bleeding about 6 weeks pp. It seemed exactly like a period to me, so I figured it was back to my cycles. A month went by, then two, then three. . .

In the end AF stayed away until 7.5 (which was also about the time we started giving DS solids.)

Hopefully, she'll stay away a while for you too!

AF returned 4 weeks after my first 2 births and not just once but right back into a monthly pattern. I got 6 months with my last. I was exclusively breastfeeding on-demand with all of them.

Sorry,
