So I'm trying to make a ring sling. And I must admit, I've never seen a ring sling in person. I had no idea there was so much to learn about ring slings!!<br><br>
My first question is, what's the difference between "pleated" and "fan style?"<br><br>
Anyone, please, help me?

There are some really good threads on theBabywearer.com, I would head there and do a search.<br><br>
Also, there are people that are meaning to write an article about all the different sling shoulder styles - pleated, fanned, hotdog, maya, etc...<br><br>
For sling rings, head to slingrings.com. The craft rings can break, and you wouldn't want a baby to fall, so you must be careful about the rings too.

pleated is just like it sounds-pleated like you'd see a pleated skirt or something but the pleats are sewn down-best place to see this is <a href="http://www.sleepingbaby.net" target="_blank">www.sleepingbaby.net</a> she has directions<br><br>
fanned is just all the fabric gathered in the ring but can be fanned out as wide as you want-see directions here <a href="http://www.slingmemommy.com" target="_blank">www.slingmemommy.com</a><br><br>
have fun<br>

Thanks for the replies, and the links. Those are really helpful. It seems odd there are so many styles of shoulders... I mean how many different ways could there possibly be to attach fabric to a ring? Now I know why so many people have more than one sling.
