What is the deal with all of the maternity clothes being designed for skinny women?!?! I found some plus size maternity clothing stores online, but it was mostly mumus... I'm a size 22, TTC. I workout constantly, but because of IR I don't tend to lose weight, just a little bit of fat every few months (I was at 44% bf, I'm down to 39%, still 250lbs... I gain muscle easily!). I'm worried if I'm not considerably smaller by the time I conceive and start to show I'll be banished to mumu land!

Did any of you sexy plus size mamas find CUTE maternity clothes over a size 20?

Yep, at Fashion Bug. I was a size 22/24 before I got pg and their jeans were so comfy and they were still huge on me even at the end.

Our Fashionbug doesn't have the maternity clothes anymore, but Motherhood Has a plus size section. I found some great pants and tops there. They can be pricey but they usually have a discount rack, with items left from the past season, or items being discontinued. I was able to find really cute clothes, a lot like what I normally would wear, just with room for my expanding belly.

Good Luck with the TTC!

JCPenny and Old Navy have some good stuff but it's only available via the internet so you can't try it on first. But, they have some good basic stuff. Also, you can look at Target. They don't have much selection but they have a few items and the XXL would probably fit you. Also, there's always ebay. We haven't tried that route yet as far as purchases.

I bought extra large maternity pants from JCPenny, and they are tight. I'm a 14/16 pre-pregnancy (and i haven't gained weight, have actually lost some). I've noticed most maternity clothes run small.

I like Old Navy. I'm not sure how high in size they go. I'm about a 20.

My mom just told me that Burlington coat factory has maternity but I haven't checked it out yet. I've also heard that Sears has a section. I don't care much for the Target selection.

I saw Old Navy's online maternity section- I was wondering how true to size they run. Do you wear the same size in regular clothes? I'm losing weight right now while TTC, and I'll need to buy size 20 soon (yea!). If they are pretty standard I'll plan on going with them... thanks for the info!

Sacha was a 22 pre pregnancy and the Old Navy XXL pants fit great, but the tops seem a bit too big (and hard to find). Also, Motherhood jeans size 22 have been great.

I just looked at my tag and they're an 18. I'm probably closer to a 20 in regular pants. The old navy 18 maternity fit perfectly. I also bought a pair of lounge pants (tee shirt material). I think they're xxl and they fit pretty good. Not huge in the leg but roomy.

Thanks! DH is convinced I'm preggo this month... I'm only a day late, but my temps are abnormally high... it's probably just wishful thinking, but if it isn't, I'm glad I asked about this!

Thanks for all of the info!
I'm a size 20/22 usually, though at around 5months pregnant I was wearing size 24 jeans from Fashion Bug... Old Navy in some of their tops in XL or XXL *do* fit me well. They must run big, I don't know. But you absolutely can try them on... you just might have to check online to make sure they carry maternity at whatever store you want to go to. I found some nifty tops there that will work well for nursing after baby, and then bought nicer colors online. Tried them on in the store, then bought them online.

Of course the bigger sizes always seem to sell out first!!!!

They have those slogan t's too... I'm wearing an Old Navy long sleeve t-shirt which says, with snowflakes, "Let is Show," in size XXL right now. I'm 39 wks pregnant

I hope that helps!

This is a great thread, Ladies. I am a first time plus size mommy, and at 5 months along, I am still wearing my 24 jeans as long as they are unbuttoned at the top. I have one size 26 pair of jeans, and I have to wear a belt on them or they just shimmy down.
Anywhoo, I do have a question for you ladies about belly bands. Do any of you know where I can find one to fit a size 24W?

Val: Keep us posted! I am keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

MamaZaf, Bella Band would surely have one that would fit you. My wife has the next to the largest size and she was a 22 pre pregnancy.
