when did you feel your first baby move? was it harder for your dh to feel because of the extra "fluff"

With my DD I felt movement finally at about 18wks. DH a couple weeks after that. Still haven't felt anything definitive yet, and I am now 14wks.

PS, you are in Baumholder! I spent 4months in Landstuhl Army Hospital during the first Gulf War. My Army Reserver unit was sent there. I just love Germany!

I felt it on the inside around 12 -13 weeks. I felt it on the outside closer to 20-22 weeks. I'm about an 18/20 & it seems like my uterus needs to be at belly button level or higher in order to feel movement on the outside.

Well I have been super skinny and pregnant and plus size and pregnant. Makes no difference. My first when I was thin I felt the latest because I wasn't in tune with my body yet. I begin to feel butterfly type movements by 14-16 weeks and from there very definate movement that becomes stronger each week.

Our nerve endings don't change just because we are fluffy.

Makes no difference to be either. I always feel mine around 14 weeks gve or take; but it takes longer for other people to feel it though the abdominal wall. (20-some)

I just want to add that everyone is different, obvs -- I have never felt movement before 18w, no matter what my size. So don't worry if you're 14,15, etc and haven't felt anything yet.

Doesn't make a difference for me. Thin or fluffy I get movement around 11 w. However, DH couldn't feel this one till around 20w, or after. This baby is just generally very inactive so that contributed as well as the fluff. Strange though because we got the hb well at 19w with our fetoscope, so the fluff didn't hinder anything there. I thought it would.

Baby #1 14 weeks.

Baby #2 9 weeks. (freaked me out it was so early-worried there were 2 in there)

Both babies I did not feel daily "kicks" until 19 weeks.

I don't think the fluff matters. You feel it from the inside.

I've been feeling pretty regular, discernible movement with this babe for the last week or two (I'm 17.5 now), but I didn't always trust what I was feeling until I *heard* the kicks on the doppler last week. Now it seems a lot more obvious!

I have not felt baby from the outside and doubt I'll be able to for a few more weeks, so same for DH. I don't remember when it was for my first two, though. Maybe around 20-22wks? It definitely happens, though, even with lots of fluff!
