Currently I stuff ds#3's (almost 15 months) pockets with a trifolded, trimmed premium prefold. He usually will wick a bit by morning (he goes on nursing marathons from dawn to getting up ). But, I don't want to put anything else in there because in my opinion, they are already pretty bulky with just a trimmed prefold in there. I also do not want to use microfiber. I really, really can't stand that stuff; we use it for ds#1 (6) because the kid has a bladder that doesn't seem to stop, but I can't wait to ditch them for good. With that in mind, what can I use that will be trimmer than the prefold, and give me a bit more absorbancy? I know the general answer is hemp or organic cotton. But, I guess what I'm more interested in is how many layers of hemp would be at least equivalent to the prefold (which is a total of 16 layers of twill)? Thanks

We'd used one of these in infant size http://www.thanksmama.com/Hemp_Fleec..._p/bks-004.htm to replace our premium diapers for night time in a pocket or the toddler size pinned as a diaper.

I also use diaper service quality infant prefolds (in my medium and large pockets). I can't stand microfiber, yuck!
They are pretty trim and work well, but when I need a trimmer diaper we use hemp. I like the swaddlebees pockets with their hemp contour inserts, but I have also heard good things about the bigger weeds inserts http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_...roducts_id=106
