You will need:
headbands (found small diameter, fabric covered at the dreaded WalMart, 6 for $2)
Yarn, plain, fancy, furry, pretty much any type will work
Ribbon, same as above...try to get some really skinny w/ wire for fun curls, and make sure to get some to be used to tie tails around the waist
Self stick foam 'paper', any colors
optional, silk flowers (I picked mine from the bridal section, little roses w/ wire stems), beads, whatev you like

make 5 bunches of yarn, we made ours approx 18" long and depending on how fluffy the yarn was between 10-15 pieces in a bunch. Cut ribbons for each bunch, can be same length or different, to your taste.
Take one bunch at a time and make one end even, tie the bunch to the headband so that you have bangs and a mane (put the tie on top for comfort), repeat w/ the rest of the bunches, make sure to make all ties in the same direction.
For ears, cut out self stick foam in an ear shape, all in one piece so it can be folded over and stuck to itself. cut smaller inner ear shapes. Fold the ear over the headband just outside your bangs and mane, add inner ear piece to front only.
Than you can braid some of it, leave it fluffy (if you used fluffy yarn), add flowers, beads, etc, take a pencil and curl ribbon if it's the wire kind, etc....

Tails- make yarn bunches again (up to you how many) make sure they are double the length you want the tail to be (ie...12 " tail, use 24" lengths of yarn/ribbon). Take the waist ribbon and tie the bunch over it in one piece, making the tail even. Again, add braids, flowers, beads, anything you want.

I hope this makes sense
I will try to get a couple pics up...I only have dd's tail (her headband was stolen, see post in TAO) but I have my extra fancy headband....hopefully I will figure out the pic thing quickly!!
