I've been wanting to ask this for a long time, but I only think about it in the middle of the night....!!! Do your babies poop in the middle of the night? From the different posts I've read in this and other forums, I get the idea that a lot of babies only pee at night! My LO does poop in the middle of the night; in her 6+ months of life she has not pooped in the middle of the night maybe 5 times. The large majority of those have ended up in the potty, which is awesome, but it usually takes more than one trip to the bathroom to finish up. (Most nights it's only two now these days, which is an improvement!) We're also down to only one poo in the middle of the night, which is really nice also! Anyway, just curious!

all of my babies stopped pooping in the night around, i'd say, 2 months of age. give or take - it's a foggy time of life but i know it's been a loooong time since DD2 has pooped at night, though she often goes before bed or else first thing in the morning.

so awesome that you're able to catch it!

Likewise with us, no nighttime poops since the early foggy days. Since then, an extremely regular first am poop which takes a week to adjust when we travel with time changes! At home, or after adjustment, it's reliably at 6am, and I wake up to him nursing, popping on and off and hitting me which is what motivates me to sit up and deal with it.

Nighttime poops stopped early for us as well, by 2 months at the latest.

My dd seems change at times. Right now she poops when we wake up in the morning around 6:30 but 2 weeks ago she had a couple of nights where she pooped a couple of times around 2am and nothing in the morning. It might be something I eat and that changes her timing or maybe it is her nap schedule when it is out of whack? I just don't expect anything to be the same every night. Some nights she wakes me up for everything and has a dry diaper and sometimes she doesn't and I end up changing diapers all night. She still does not hold either all night, I can't wait for that

Oh yeah, she is just over 6mo.

DD poops in the middle of the night, every night! She's only 2 months so I hope it changes soon, cause she poops a lot in general...

I wonder when my LO will stop pooping in the night! I'll probably look back and miss these days of the long poop times in the middle of the night! Thanks for the encouragement, pixiepunk. It is nice that she holds them for the potty. Really the only time she's not pooped in the potty in the middle of the night was for a few days when she was 3 months old, and at the very beginning when I was still figuring that part out. I think that's pretty cool!
