I started swelling up super bad, even my eyes looked freaky. Started having loads of lower back pain, and lots of pelvic pressure.<br><br>
So I went in to Labor and delivery.. they did this weird swab test that is called something really long, its suppose to see if your going to go into labor in the next 2 weeks.. make sense? Anyway it was positive and I was contracting every 5 minutes.. only pain I felt from them was in my back but it was intense.. just a tight feeling in my uterus and then the pain in my back.<br><br><br>
So I had to get a shot of tributaline. Begged to go home.. because I can lay at home as easy and more comfortable then i can in the hospital.<br><br>
So Now i am home and not allowed to get out of bed.<br><br><br>
So positive thoughts to me please that the babies stay in as long as possible!

Fetal fibro-nectin (misspelled, I'm sure). I've always been told that a positive doesn't necessarily mean you WILL go into labor w/in 2 wks, but that you could. I'm praying you won't and that you'll feel better. Good luck and take it easy! I had a shot of that with my 1st DS at 31 weeks (preterm labor) and he refused to come out until 40+ weeks after that... I know you are carrying twins but hopefully they stay put for a longer amount of time too!

DDCC to say good luck and I hope the babies get to cook a bit longer. Relax and try not to stress. Seems like you and your doc are doing the right thing by keeping off your feet. Did the swelling go down any?

The swelling went down in my face and now I look normal lol, all that is bothering me today is my hands, I got man hands lol.<br><br>
I do not think I will go into active labor anytime soon, My cervix is funneling, but it is also hard and very high, very hard to even reach, so that gives me comfort.<br><br>
I also am passing trace protein in my urine, but they gave me a bottle of those test strip thingies and I am checking it often, still says trace amounts. I am guessing thats not a huge concern at the moment.<br><br>
For now I am just super bored, but super happy not to be admitted to the hospital!<br><br>

I believe they plan to start the steroid shots for lung development tomorrow.<br><br>
I had this with my last twin pregnancy too, and I carried to 39 weeks.<br><br><br>
I am just laying low and eating lol Finally got my appetite back! Still have not gained a pound though. Babies look about 4 pounds (estimate I know). And that is good for my gestation.<br><br>

I only know the name of the test because I've had 3 so far, all negative. Anyway, I wanted to write to tell you that my singleton is just over 4 lbs, and I'm scheduled to deliver at least a week (probably more like 2+ weeks) before you, and my doctor was/is very happy with her weight, so if both of those little guys in your belly are each 4 lbs, it sounds like you're doing a really excellent job growing them! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love">

Tea... What about RRL or some Sleepy Time since you have to stay in bed?

My midwife recommended nettle tea. It is supposed to improve circulation, which might help the swelling. Sometimes you can get it blended with RRL. You can drink up to a quart a day. I use 4 teaspoons and steep it for 5 minutes. Then mix with agave (or honey) and drink it over ice. It's really good!
