Hello-

We moved to Portland from ABQ when we were pregnant. 4 Years later we may be moving back. I wasn't a parent when I lived there. I only lived there for a year but my husband grew up there. If we move it will be in July. Hello HOT. I guess I just wanted to gain perspective on raising a kiddo in ABQ. Natural living opportunites are plentiful in PDX. I guess I wonder about schooling choices, playdates and the community.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I personally think ABQ is a great place to raise kids (despite what the polls say). We have a great playgroup, HSing is super easy and accepted, there are charter schools, private ect.

It's very open to natural living, execpt for public transportation. There is so much to do with kids and it's really a very kid friendly city.

Albuquerque is very AP friendly!

Schools: homeschooling is easy to do here, Montessori's are all over, unsure on Waldorf. Public schools are iffy, but there are some good charters!

Playdates: We have an MDC playgroup that meets every Thursday. Right now the age range is from lil babies to about age 7. Most are in the 2-3 age range and girls.
