Does this sound like it could be a bladder infection?

She's been potty trained since 34 months (she is now 4.5) and has always had occasional accidents but the last month or so she's been having tons of accidents. The last week or so its gotten worse. My friend watched her for 1 hour yesterday and in that time period she had 4 accidents. She says that her vulva hurts (just points between her legs so it could be her urethra). She has also been complaining of abdominal pain for about a month as well. She is going to the bathroom anywhere from 15-40 times a day at this point. I am probably going to take her in this afternoon. We don't have a family doctor (moved to a new city with not enough doctors) so I will have to take her to a walk-in clinic.

Also is it all right if I collect her urine sample at home? I know how to do a clean catch (I have interstitial cystitis so I've done a lot of urine samples.). Wipe her first, let her urinate for a couple seconds before starting the collection, store it in the fridge until we go. That's about it right? Do you think they will give me trouble about not doing it there? I just don't want her to be stressed and nervous about being at a doctor's office (she has only been maybe twice in her life) and not be able to give a sample.

Oh I forgot to add - her urine smells really bad.

Yes, Just the fact that she complains about it, has to go often, and her urine smells. I would call a pediatrition, because I don't think they will let you bring one in without seeing her. You never know who's urine you might be bringing in. Insurance companies are funny about that stuff.

But, give them a call and see what they say.

We don't have a pediatrician. We are in Ontario and there are no doctors available.

I called them and they want her to do the urine sample there. My MIL is going to take off work early to watch my other two kids so I can take DD to the walk-in clinic later this afternoon.
