Where do you live? You don't want tropical ideas if you live in a temperate zone.

UmmBnB you have excellent taste! as soooo tidy you would die if you saw my before! and there's no after yet!

ophelia...is that a trumpet vine??? how do you like it? is it envasive??

lovin' the slate in both of your pics.

We're in zone 6....so spring is upon us. I have about $4000 from the tax refund to spend on my yard. EVERYTHING needs done..EVERYTHING!
we need to replace a patio that's around 450 sq feet. and although I'd like this to be super nice...I don't want to spend my whole budget on it. I read an article about staining concrete...so maybe this is an option?! any ideas?
We also want to build a pergola/arbor....
And I love to grow herbs.....edible yard with some decorations and a little grass are the dream.

Keep 'em coming!

here are a few pics of our big city backyard. we moved in last March, our yard came landscaped. i didn't do much of anything to it besides water and trim. the photos were taken in October. as we have a very shady yard it lacks color. but we really like it. during the spring/early summer however we had a few tulips and daffodils. also lily of the valley, lilies, day lilies, roses, one sad peony and a couple other little flowers here and there. the hosta had flowers too. during the fall i planted about 150 spring bulbs, i am hoping they will flower as we have a ton of hungry bunnies! i really want to plant more flowers to stretch over the entire growing season. i am thinking about planting some annuals this year also, maybe begonias, i here they do well in the shade. have a few other ideas on my list as well. i can't wait to get started, i sooo have spring fever. : can't wait to see yours!

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...os/walkway.jpg
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...hotos/back.jpg
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ardoctober.jpg
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...sideofyard.jpg
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...os/october.jpg
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...os/octyard.jpg

I have a bunch of plants picked out of Vessey's that I am going to order sometime in April. They have a specials page on the back where you can get a ton of plants or bulbs for $5 and $10, that I had not noticed before.
