It's been four months since DD was born and I'm still losing hair like crazy. I tried to count and I think I'm losing over 150 hairs per day. Or maybe it seems like more because they are longer but I mean I have never seen that much hair in the drain. I'm eating 5 fruits and veggies a day, lots of oats, two eggs plus some meat (though I try to keep it to one-two servings, what with the eggs and oats and buckwheat), taking pre-natals and DHA and drinking a cup of Emergen-C every day and the hairs just keep coming. I get maybe ten each time I re-do my ponytail and at least a hundred when I comb it or take a shower. Of course I haven't counted a hundred but I've counted ten so I can easily imagine what a hundred looks like.

I'm getting worried. Am I going bald? Will this end? I thought I'd have my hair back by now. Advice, tips, reassurance, fellow-travellers...

That is usually the peak of the hair loss post partum for those of us who get it-the worst of it is usually between 3-6 months post partum-you are right in the middle of it. It should get better in a few months

Don't worry, it will end. It's normal. I lost a TON of hair and no one could tell. I used to make piles of hair wherever I sat down. Blech. Now I have short hair where it is all growing back, and long hair too. Looks interesting to say the least .

Oh, hurrah, thank God. The other literature I read indicated that if it "lasts for months" it could be a serious problem, like a thyroid problem. I thought... "months, does that mean, more than one month? 'Cause we are past that."

Though... that is not exactly comforting I guess some hair is better than no hair. :) Heh.

Thanks again for replying. :-D

I was sure that I would be bald by the time it stopped.
