Is this normal? I thought that exclusive breastfeeding would cause me to have no menstrual cycle for at least a year. We never use pacifiers, and we do self-feeding.<br><br>

Uh, my understanding is that ebf will -delay- the return of AF longer than formula feeding or other methods. So just think how fast you would have gotten it if you hadn't ebf'ed!<br><br>

i got mine at 8 months and i'm told i'm lucky cuz others have gotten in much earlier. it was 6 weeks with my first baby. i guess everybody is different, but you didnt do anything wrong

I got mine at 7 months pp, too.

I got mine right after my pp bleeding stopped. DD only ever sucked on my nipples, she was (is) a great bfer. My midwife told me to celebrate my fertility rather than feel so ripped off. I still feel ripped off.

I always get mine 3-5 months postpartum and I follow all the rules. Some of us just aren't lucky to avoid having it return sooner. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">

No everyone is different. I got AF at 8 months PP with DD and 7 months with DS. Exclusive breastfeeding.

At the time I just guessed we were blessed to be fertile.<br>
Which I now know to be true. I miscarried in Novemeber but got pregnant again the next month and am now 8 weeks pregnant.

I got mine back at 5 months with my first even though she was exclusively bf and eating several times at night. It was 14 months with my second, and he was sleeping through the night at 1 month and eating solids at 7 months.

Mine came back 3 months pp.

Mine came back after the PP bleeding stopped for three months, disappeared for two and was back until I got pregnant again. No pacifiers, no bottles, no supplements, nursing no less than every three hours. I was really disappointed. I've had the baby, my PP bleeding has stopped as of two weeks ago when I had an IUD placed a week and a half ago, where I spotted for a week. Now I'm waiting to see, but since I'm tandem nursing, that might skew things this time around. If you're still worried, ask your doc. If you're on hormonal BC that might have something to do with it too.<br><br>
