just some prattle b/c I'm bored and have a rare opportunity to be on the computer as long as I'd like with no kids bothering me b/c everyone's asleep but me.

I had a very good day. What about you? What did you do today?

I went to a LLL meeting, then out to lunch with some friends, then to the park for our weekly gathering. We thought we were the only ones coming, but then 2 other friends showed up...it was a pleasant surprise. The kids had tons of fun. I soaked up all the feminine/mama energy. It was nice.

Tomorrow (today?), I'm taking the kids to the free concert on the plaza. There's one every Wednesday during the Spring here in my town. I think the kids will get a kick out of it. They can dance and eat to live music! It'll be such fun!

Maybe we'll take a bus ride afterward.

Anyhoo...my dh and I actually had stimulating conversation today. He believes it would be much easier to get rid of sexism than racism. I think he thinks that b/c he's a male and not subject to sexism as much as racism. He asked for examples of this pervasive sexism I talked about and one of the examples I gave was how I'm expected to do all the cooking and cleaning b/c I'm the woman. He said it's b/c I'm home all day, not b/c I'm the woman. I told him that was BS, b/c he certainly didn't cook or clean the week he spent at home and he was home all day (not that I'm usually home all day these days, anyway!). He just laughed.

MDC...my personal blog.

I'll copy/paste what I put in my Live Journal for ya

So last night Ryan called and I said to him, "did I tell you what I did to my hair?" He said "no, what?" I told him, "you'll see..." knowing he wouldn't settle for that answer. He asked if I'd cut it, dyed it, dreaded it? I told him that I had, in fact, dreaded it. He then asked "uhh, is it permanent? I mean, are you going to have to shave your head to get them out?" I told him that I figured once it was a couple of inches longer I could probably just cut them out. He then wondered if they were at least cool, stylish dreads like (someone who's name I can't remember) or if they were ugly Bob Marley dreads. I asked if there was a difference and he told me that yes, there was a difference and that the guy he's staying with in CA was now shaking his head in empathy for Ryan and his crazy wife.

Now, I have to wonder, why wouldn't he at least question whether or not I actually did this. I don't think it crossed his mind for a second that I was kidding. I mean, I've seen some beautiful dreads on some beautiful women, but it's not for me. Ryan didn't even consider that. He just thought "great, there she goes again." It never even occurred to him that I would probably mention it before hand. If I was really serious about doing it I would probably do it regardless, but I would mention it none the less. Of course, he did have to talk me out of shaving my head after seeing Debi Mazar in 'Empire Records', stating I didn't have the "right kind of face" to pull it off, lol.

I have this same issue. My dh just assumes I'm crazy, so nothing phases him.

Of course, I am a bit on the crazy side. He lives vicariously thru me.

(thanks. that was interesting to read. maybe I should read other live journals. gotta find some first, tho.)

Well, today, I'm fighting depression 'cause my vacuum cleaner is dead. RIP. I have to wait for $$$ to buy a new one. I have five kids and a dog... DH is pissed at me 'cause I yelled at him for not remembering the twins are going to the zoo tomorrow (I've only told him 8 million times)... then I got mad and hung up on him. I'll get over it...

On the brighter side, I am going to see Shrek 2 today... with just Adam (newborn)... Also, Adam had a good night's sleep last night, but is now waking up (lazy slug!). I will be home in time for th ekids to come home from school and I will dump the clean laundry on DH to fold.

There... good day, all around. Oh, and DH won 20 bucks in the lottery today...

nak
yesterday was like that video game "frogger"... and I kept stepping on the log that ewas moving fast in the wrong direction. I spent the first half of the day at dd's pre-k... which was planned and always wears me out... so I knew it wouldn't be a really productive day... but I leave for 2.5 weeks tommorow so some stuff has to get done.

quick load of laundry; sink overflows... 1/2 hr cleanup
make a dumb error on the phone w/ credit card company (activate a card I don't have in my possesion yet... thus de-activating the one I intend to use on my trip Duh!) over an hour on the phone to fix that, half with a very pleasant woman in India (bye-bye domestic jobs!) and half with a fellow who seemed a little put out I was making him do his job.
ran out to get dinner.. didn't have enough money, they don't take plastic.. super! side trip down the busiest road in our little town at 5:30 to get to an ATM
the only bullet I dodged all day was when the guy at the restaurant chased me to the door with one box of food he had missed when bagging my order.... yup, I came thisclose to getting home after all that without my OWN dinner!
so happy to finally collapse into colonial house with a glass of wine!

I'm open to babble. I am bored. I am on bedrest. 33 weeks pregnant with contractions. Lovely. I am on terbutaline which is a nasty nasty drug. I actually forgot my second dose about an hour ago and I was wondering why I suddenly had 7 painful contrax. Oh, yeah, the medicine. ICK

I have the urge to clean. But I need to keep resting. This SUCKS. I am surfing quite a bit. Dh is being wonderful and taking care of Goo and me and just being a great guy all around. I can't believe I found someone so wonderful.

I wish I could take Goo to the zoo on Friday. I CAN get up and walk around, so maybe DH and I can take her to the playground on Friday. There I can sit at least.

Sigh....

oh yeah, this damn drug is an appetite suppressant. OMG, I am already running low on weight this pregnancy and now I have dropped 2 lbs in 2 days. LOVELY...

I guess this is more of a vent than a babble
