So Martina(22 mos) skipped most of her nap yesterday, was incredibly grouchy all day, was over tired and didn`t go to bed until 10:45pm and then woke up at 5am in a tantrum, I got her back to sleep but couldn`t get myself back to sleep.

I don`t want to drink caffiene to stay awake plus I am afraid the little one will get an extra boost and not go to bed tonight.

So she had a nap from 1:45 until 2:45 so a good hour and is pretty peppy still.

I have managed to maintain my calm but I am hitting the wall.

I am fake patient now instead of real patient.

So I am hoping by posting this I will keep my patience(fake as it is) and get dd to sleep at areasonable time so I can go too.

It won`t take much to send me over the edge..I am so tired:yawning:

A pep talk might help

fake patience is better than no patience!

Can you go for a walk? Getting out of the house helps me. Is there someone who can help you take a nap? (It's Saturday after all - mom deserves a nap, right?)

Start the bedtime routine REALLY early - so that you're not feeling like you have to rush through. Skip anything that causes you stress.

no one to help..dh is a long haul truck driver and has been gone 9 days, will be home Monday, older kids are at friend`s houses.

I am holding up...no walk though, my 4 year old wants to go to her friend`s house down the road and I know if we go out she will freak if we don`t go that way but they have company

so far my 4 year old almost had an accident 2 in her underwear and came in with a scraped knee...I have had to wrap it in a blanket a multitude of times and it kept falling off, I think she`s forgotten it now. It`s been a rough day for her because one of the goldfish died(we`ve had it 2 years)

My little one has pulled all the videos off the shelf, torn my new chequebooks out of the box and pretty much destroyed the office as I am typing...*sigh`*

OK...still calm and still tired

Thanks for posting!

It was a challenging day(they usually are) but at least I had 7 hours sleep last night.

We spent a lot of time outside..no tv..except for me

But no nap..I think she's transitioning out of her naps, Lord help me please, and it seems she takes one every other day.

My dh will get home around dinner time tomorrow night, leave Tuesday, hopefully back for Wednesday night or early Thursday and then home for a little while...I just need to get through!

It is now 6:23, they are eating dinner still, I am finished and sneaking a break. I have been outside a lot today which makes the days and nights easier.

But it aint over yet..I may be back

Oh Gosh, that no-nap thing is awful! We're there too. We call it rest time now and it's 50/50 on whether I get a nap out of it. Ugh! My dh says "let them go," and I tell him "then YOU stay home and do the whole day without a break!" I don't care if ds goes to bed just a little bit earlier if he doesn't nap - I still need that middle of the day break desperately!!!!

Okay, just a bit more - you're awesome! You're almost there and I hope you get 7+ hours sleep tonight too.

ok so she went down at 7:30, woke up and fell out of bed so I brought her downstairs..she was fine, it's low, but she was awake, she kinda played around a bit and her sister played with her and then she climbed in my lap and nursed to sleep and is sound now.

So both of them in bed at 10pm...geesh, what a long day.

I should be in bed but I need to wind down.

anyway..I didn't lose it and I remained calm and patient except for the odd annoyed sigh.

I am sooooooo glad my dh is home tomorrow night.

Thanks for stickin' by me!

I am back

She woke up at 4:30am and just went back to sleep at 7:15am...I am so exhausted and too awake to sleep now...thankfully dh gets home tonight...if he calls and tells me he's delayed I will cry.

I don't know how I am going to do it when the kids go back to school..I cannot function on this little sleep.

I am so frustrated and I feel angry at her. Illogical but sleep deprivation doesn't make for logical thinking.

:yawn
