I think it's time to move DD up to the regular size prefolds (she wears infant size now). Are the 4x8x4's that much bulkier? I usually just trifold the diaper and lay in the cover b/c I could never snappi the prefold on her. She's not huge, maybe 15-16 lbs., and even when she was smaller I could never get the infants to fit with a snappi. Now that she's moving into medium covers, the infant prefolds just don't fit into them as well. What do you suggest?

I would go with regulars before premiums. my dd is about the same weight as yours and while I can put a premium on her, they are pretty bulky and I prefer the trimmer regulars. However, since you are just trifolding, premiums would probably be just fine for you, and then you wouldn't have to buy more later when she starts wetting more heavily

I'd go with the premiums unless your dd is a light wetter. The regulars are a little less bulky but not as absorbent. My babies needed the absorbency of the premiums by that age. If you want a not so bulky fit, I'd give the snappis a try again. Here's a link to a short video from a diaper service that shows snappi'ing a prefold. I, personally, secure the snappi a little different, but the basic folding style is the same. I snappi the right wing first and then the left, because it's what's more comfortable to me. Anyway, maybe this will help if you're interested in giving the snappi a go again. :)

Reg. are great for daytime at that weight. After regs. I'd go to toddler IPF's. They are the same lenght as a premium CPF, but have a bit wider width so you'll get a lot of use out of them!
