Hello! MaryBeth (2 months) is currently wearing infant CPF's. She weighs 11 or 12 pounds now. About when/what weight is a baby ready for premium size prefolds?

The issue is that we have very limited space right now, and all of our belongings must fit into the minivan in about 2 months. So I'm wondering if I will need the premium prefolds before then, or if I can just wait it out.

And do you know of anybody who sells dyed prefolds? I saw some and I think they are really cute.

Thanks!
Well, they say premium PFs should fit from 15-30 lbs, but IMO, they are so much larger than the infants that they will be really bulky on a 15lber. I guess it depends on how fast your baby will grow in the next two months! Our ds is also 8 weeks, and he is getting too big for his infants. I have found, however, that the bikini twist fold gives more room to fasten in front than the newspaper fold, and we've been using that. It's also good for catching bf poo. Sunflower derrieres sells dyed PFs, although I have never ordered them from her, I have ordered other products.

Another thing to consider is trimming your premium prefolds so they will fit smaller babes- info on that here.

dd is abt 18-19 lbs (a year old) and can still fit in an infant cpf pinned
but i do now have her in premiums, i just fold in a flap at the back and do a bikini twist and pin, nice and trim and fitted
So it sounds like she will still fit into infant pf's for a while if they are pinned instead of snappied? We are already doing bikini twist because that seemed much easier to get around her waist than the other fold.
