I don't know this for sure (I'm just beginning to invest in prefolds) but many people's posts that I read recommended greenmountaindiaper.com. I myself am just trying to find deals when the prefolds are used (keeps the costs down). But I go to greenmountaindiaper.com just to read up on all the options, etc! Good luck!
I just ordered some from GMD....but I got my infants from Granitesmith on Ebay (she has a store). They are very nice, and they were cheap. 24 for 24 bucks, I think! And she has proraps, and will combine shipping. So that made getting started cheap for me.
I have some of the Rainbow Short premiums from www.greenmountaindiapers.com and they are awesome!! I also have plain indian prefolds and Thirsties and the Green Mountain Diapers ones are the best by far!!
Baby Naturale http://www.babynaturale.com has pretty competetive pricing. You can also check out http://www.diaperswappers.com. I've bought a few things from there, and it's worked out for us!
I got my infant prefolds from Granitesmith on ebay she had the best price and her service was wonderful - she also had a good price on snappi's.

I have an order in to green mountain for my premium prefolds I got 1 dozen of the regular size premiums and one of the rainbow premiums. Her site is WONDERFUL tons of information, great pictures and good prices. I also ordered her newborn trial package just to get some more newborn prefolds and newborn covers (I think that package is $51 which is a good price).
