Hi everyone... I had a D&C at 10 weeks almost 2 weeks ago. I haven't had any bleeding since the procedure, and although tired, and a bit hormonal, I've been feeling ok. I've noticed some EWCM the last few days, but I haven't gotten back into charting again - just haven't felt up to it yet....

Anyway, today being Valentine's and such, DH and I had a romantic evening, which of course ended with some intimate time... we didn't use protection, and I'm wondering about the whole fertility thing... the last D&C I had, I was told I should wait at least three months before trying again (which we did), and I ended up with another D&C anyway... ugh.

I'm looking for some positive stories... anyone gotten pregnant right after a D&C, and had no issues? I don't know if I'm really fertile, like I said, I haven't been charting, just noticed the CM in the bathroom. I won't find out for a few weeks if I am (and I swear I won't obsess about it in the meantime), but I'd really just like to hear from others who have or who know of women that have had a similar experience and everything turned out okay.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Mindi, first I'm so sorry for your losses.

I don't have any answers for you. I imagine it's possible for you to be Oing already. My experience is this:

I had a d&c on December 4 and AF started on Jan 3. I did chart through that cycle and don't think I O'd at all. I had one normal cycle after that and am in the middle of my 2nd normal cycle. We are TTC now.

Good luck to you!

Sorry for your losses... :-(((

I had a mmc/d&c Nov 1st and I did ovulate but late that first cycle... it took about an extra week for my body to realize what had happened.

OTOH, I know people who did ovulate normally two weeks later and you could definitely be one of those. It's really up to mother nature, or God, or whatever force you believe is behind these things.

As far as I know, there is no reason why a pregnancy on your first egg after a m/c would have any more problems than any other pregnancy...

(we conceived in our second cycle, in January...)

Take care, hope this helps,

Hi, I didn't have a d&c (miscarried 3 weeks ago) but I also have noticed the same cm. I don't think I am pregnant(but I couldn't say no for sure). I think I read it is a healthy sign, meaning that your hormones are gearing back up. Either way I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I do want to get pregnant again, and as soon as possible, but I'd really like to make sure that it's safe and a good thing, know what I mean???

Tricia, any idea where you read that? I like the interpretation, though!

Jennifer and Lindsay, thanks for sharing your stories with me!

Blessings,
I have been at this site every day for a month.
www.pregnancyloss.info
I agree, I want to have the best possible start. We want to conceive as soon as we can. I'm afraid I am not very good at waiting. It's sad we find ourselves here, but at least we are not alone. Best wishes to you all.

I had a D&C at 16 weeks for missed m/c, I think it took 5-6 weeks to get my cycle again then I sat out that cycle and got prego the next one and that baby is fussing at me to feed her. I was told I only needed to wait 1 cycle

Just checked my chart and apparently I o'd on cd33 the cycle after my d&c. So it took a while.

I have also heard that ewcm is a VERY good sign that things are back on track. GL!!!

Holy Crap!

So here's my update.... I had a follow up appointment with the OB, and he basically recommended waiting a little bit, but was pretty non-committal about how important it was to wait... and basically told me to keep taking my prenatals just in case I did get pregnant...

I was very sick over the weekend, food poisoning or something, wasn't pretty... at first though, it was just nausea and exhaustion, and all I could think was "I can't possibly be pregnant again... " (But of course, if you've read the original post on this thread, you know it is indeed a possibility...)

Since Tuesday, I've been feeling better, but this morning, I had to run in the bathroom and stand over the sink for a bit dry heaving.... DH comes in to check on me and asks me if I'm pregnant or if it's a bit of the weekend stuff coming back, I told him I'm not sure...

I took a test a little bit ago. I didn't think I was hallucinating that I saw a VERY faint line in the positive section of the test.... It's after the 10 minute mark now, and that line is definitely there, but really faint. OMG... could I really possibly be pregnant already??? I'm kind of freaking out right now... at least internally.

Luckly, I bought a box with more than one test, so I'll check again in a few days, I guess...

:
